#reverb10: beautifully different

(what day 7 (community) was all about)

day 8 prompt ... Think about what makes you different and what you do that lights people up. Reflect on all the things that make you different – you’ll find they’re what make you beautiful.

(- Author: Karen Walrond)

odd bird in ... i have learned that my caring, authenticity, forthrightness, and expressive odd-bird perspective on life - with a bit of snark, wit, humor, and honesty - lights people up ... well, so i am told every once in a while as the smiles, laughter, puzzling looks, and maybe even some thought-provoking conversations follow.

learning to enjoy the odd bird ... i have a technical engineering background, and i enjoy writing. when people have puzzled at my interests, i have found ways to help them connect to their personal excitement and interests - and i'm not even trying. i just LOVE listening to people's stories and engaging in what i shared on saturday about wonder. although i really enjoy my alone time, i also really enjoy being around people. i am a pop-culture nut, voracious reader of books - as well as blogs and news paper. i love music to be around me, i sing off-key, and i'll keep singing (or humming, maybe). calculator in tow - all the time and jonesing when i do not have it.

spending today watching others ... one other thing wrapped into my odd bird in, often, if someone is really into some subject matter, i'll take a peek at what it is about - i am curious. always curious! in fact, i will spend my day today smiling while i watch others make people light up!

thank you, karen, for challenging others and me

for a morning self-esteem boost!
